POST BASIC

ADMISSION REQUIREMENT

The Basic Midwifery programme is a six-semester programme (3 years) of study. The courses in the first year of the programme are designated in four digits (representing level, credit load, and semester for the last two digits respectively) with prefix of BMP (Basic Midwifery Program). The courses in the second and third years of study are designated as that of the first year with same prefix (BMP).

Candidate for admission into General Nursing Education Programme of the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria must possess the following:

  • Senior secondary school Testimonial
  • Computer print-out of S.S.C.E result with a minimum of five O’ level credits in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology at not more than 2 sittings in NECO and WAEC (combination of WAEC and NECO is acceptable)
  • Primary Leaving Certificate
  • Declaration of Age or Birth Certificate
  • L.G.A Indigenes Certificate (for Sokoto State Indigenes only)

    PERIOD OF ADMISSION

    Forms are usually on sale every year between September and October. Entrance examination/ Interview take place between October and January while the study session begins in March each year.
